Our farm started in Albany with 15 cows in the early 1940s. By the 1960s, the area was becoming more suburban, and land and water was limited, so our grandfather moved the farm 45 minutes north to our current location in Buskirk.  

We grew up milking 50 cows in a stanchion barn and before any of us could reach the pipeline, we knew the farm was where we wanted to be. Today, our farm milks 1,000 cows and are members of the Cabot and McCadam brands. We also work over 2,000 acres of land, providing 60% of the feed needed for our cows.

Diversification is vital to overcoming the highs and lows of milk prices. We raise beef and pork to not only fill our freezers, but offer these high quality, locally grown, all natural products as retail ala cart cuts, as shares and wholesale to local restaurants and farm stores.  In the fall, we grow and retail over 50 varieties of pumpkins, gourds and squash at our roadside stand in Easton.

The decisions we make on our farm are always done with the next generation in mind. Where they take the farm is up to them, but our goal is to provide them an opportunity to farm, like our father did for us.
