Celebrating 27 Years at the Hudson Farmers Market

Celebrating 27 Years at the Hudson Farmers Market

The Hudson Farmers’ Market was started by Milt Meisner and Doc Posner who wanted to bring a farmers’ market to Hudson and support small farmers and start-ups with a place to sell their produce.  At the time the direct line from farm-to-customer was not as popular as it is today.

Milt went door-to-door to find farmers who were interested in starting the farmers market and were committed to providing customers with access to fresh local foods.   With sponsorship from the Mayor’s Office, the Hudson Farmers’ Market started its first season.

The market has grown to include a diverse group of vendors who take pride in being a part of Milt and Doc’s original vision.  The market has changed over the years, but the core ethics remain the same— producers willing to take a risk, customers willing to show up, and the magic that happens when community members collaborate.

The Hudson Farmers’ Market 2024 Main Season Market is each Saturday, until November 23rd.  The market is located at the corner of 6th and Columbia Street in Hudson NY from 9am to 1pm.
