Apple Picking Returns to Goold Hill Apple Orchard

Apple Picking Returns to Goold Hill Apple Orchard

Fall is apple-picking season in the Hudson Mohawk Region, and a beloved local orchard is welcoming visitors back for a new chapter.

Goold Hill Apple Orchard in Castleton-on-Hudson has reopened for the 2026 season as part of Goold Hill Estate, bringing back the tradition of picking fresh apples while introducing new experiences for visitors to enjoy.

The historic orchard, located at 1297 Brookview Station Road, has been part of the Capital Region agricultural landscape for more than a century. Originally established in 1910, the property is now entering a new era under owners Neviana Zhgaba and Ardian Llomi, who are revitalizing the orchard while preserving its agricultural heritage.

As September arrives, the apple trees are ready for the fall harvest. Visitors can enjoy the traditional Pick-Your-Own experience and bring home apples picked right from the tree. Fresh-picked apples are also available at the farm store, with varieties changing as the harvest progresses.

Apple picking is just one part of the fall experience at Goold Hill. The orchard is also bringing back seasonal favorites including tractor rides, a corn maze and a pumpkin patch, making it a destination for families looking to enjoy a day outdoors.

After picking, visitors can stop by the orchard bakery and farm store for fresh cider donuts, pies and other seasonal treats. Goold Hill Estate also features a vineyard and cidery, outdoor gathering areas, live music, food trucks and special events throughout the season.

The reopening of Goold Hill Apple Orchard is welcome news for local agriculture and the community. The revitalization builds on the orchard’s long history while creating new opportunities for people to connect with local food, farming and the landscape.

For Harvest Connection, apple picking is a wonderful way to experience the abundance of the fall harvest firsthand. A trip to the orchard provides an opportunity to support local agriculture, enjoy time outdoors and take home fresh New York apples for pies, applesauce, snacks and other seasonal recipes.

Plan your fall visit and check Goold Hill Estate’s website for current apple-picking availability, hours, varieties and seasonal events.
