Fieldridge Farms: A Sweet Tradition in Johnstown, NY

Spring in upstate New York wouldn’t be complete without the rich aroma of sap boiling into golden maple syrup — and at Fieldridge Farms in Johnstown, that tradition is alive and well. This family-run farm captures the heart of the region’s maple-making heritage.

Founder Owen Potter and his father-in-law, Steve, started with just a backyard evaporator and a shared love of maple. Today, Fieldridge Farms has grown to 12,000 taps, producing high-quality syrup while keeping sustainability in mind with modern equipment and sap-monitoring systems.

Fieldridge Farms offers a wide range of maple delights, including:

  • Pure maple syrup (golden to dark)
  • Maple cream, sugar, and candies
  • Maple sauces and mustard
  • Specialty treats like maple popcorn, maple cotton and maple nuts

All syrup is made on-farm, ensuring freshness and authenticity.

Fieldridge Farms participates in New York’s Weekends, welcoming visitors to taste products, tour the sugarhouse, and learn about maple production.

Owen, his wife Melissa, and extended family are deeply involved in every step of maple production. Their commitment blends hard work with hospitality, making every visit a sweet experience.

Whether sampling syrup on a crisp March weekend or stocking up for pancakes all year, Fieldridge Farms offers a true taste of New York maple tradition.
