Sunnyside Gardens

Sunnyside Gardens is a family-owned greenhouse and garden center located in Saratoga Springs, New York. Established in 1982 by the Chapman family, the business began with only two glasshouses and has grown into Saratoga’s largest retail plant operation and garden center, now operating approximately 20 greenhouses.

Today, Sunnyside Gardens offers a wide selection of annuals, vegetables, perennials, and thousands of hanging baskets. Approximately 90 percent of the flowers sold are grown on-site, reinforcing the farm’s commitment to high-quality, locally grown products and supporting the regional economy. The business emphasizes customer service, with knowledgeable staff available to assist with a wide range of growing and gardening questions.

Over time, Sunnyside Gardens has expanded its offerings beyond plant production to become a well-known seasonal destination. In 1988, the farm introduced the area’s first pumpkin patch, helping to establish agritourism in the region. Their annual Fall Festival now features hayrides, Saratoga’s only authentic ride-on train, live bluegrass music, and a pick-your-own pumpkin patch with thousands of pumpkins to choose from, along with seasonal favorites like fresh cider donuts. Unique attractions such as the Pumpkin Hall-O-Flame and the Butterfly House further enhance the family-friendly experience and have made the farm a long-standing destination for the community.

During the holiday season, Sunnyside Gardens transforms into a festive destination offering Christmas trees, wreaths, poinsettias, and seasonal décor. The farm provides a traditional and welcoming atmosphere where customers can find high-quality holiday products while continuing to support a local business.
